12 Ways of Tornado Awesomeness

Day 17

Many of you know the loving Karen at Baking in a Tornado. Tamara of The Three Gerbers reached out to Karen’s friends and shared that Karen has never received an advent calendar. Advent calendars come in all shapes and sizes. Last year, we had a magnetic board showing the Christmas story. This advent calendar for Karen is presented by 25 of her closest blogging buddies, sharing their experiences and love for Karen.

Day 17

Although I write a blog, I struggle with making personal contact with others. Karen has helped me work through some of that, as she reaches out regularly, on my blog and personally. She is just a real person and she is appreciated by many.

I wanted to give her a recipe, but I don’t cook anything outside a small repertoire and it would be boring. I wanted to writer her a poem, but I realized that I’m no good at that either. Instead I figured that I might as well borrow from a Christmas song that lets me talk about all the wonderful things that Karen offers to us. Then I realized this song is SO long, so if you want to jump to the bottom to read all 12 days at once, I’d be fine with that!

    • Yes, I am regularly amazed at the love and support that pours from my online friends, often more than my "real" friends.

  2. Thank you so much April, for the kindness and the amount of effort you clearly put into doing all of this for me.

I do want to be sure to tell you that friendship is a two-way street. You are every bit as good a friend to me as you say that I am to you. I'm lucky to have you in my blogging life.
