Wellness Wednesdays – My Fitness Routine

As much as I’ve wanted to start a routine this year, I haven’t done it yet. There are a few reasons, none of them good. I’ve been concentrating a lot on my eating habits. That’s right, I’ve actually lost weight just from changing my eating. I’ve dropped 15.2 pounds since the beginning of the year.

I’m trying to get a routine for my life, not just routine for fitness. I’m trying to take it one step at a time. I’m working on carving out a workout time, which if all goes right, will be my daughter’s nap time. If she’s awake, I can’t a workout in, because when I start moving, she’s around my feet the whole time. Even when we go walking outside, she now wants to walk with me – literally walk with me. Walking with a one-year old isn’t quite exercise.

The other option is getting up early before she gets up. But that will only work if I can get her to sleep through the night or nearly sleep through the night. Last weekend, I weaned her. But that doesn’t stop her from waking up in the night. I would prefer to knock it out before my day started.

I started the program late last year and enjoyed it. I like it because there’s a set program and if you follow the program, you will see some real results. It’s not that I don’t like the gym, but I don’t go to the classes, I don’t like the crowds. It might be the embarrassment from my weight loss, but I’m just comfortable with no one watching with the excess weight. I used to be hot, ya know?

The plan:

Monday:  Stretch 10 Class, Fire Starter Class, Stretch 10 Class – Completed

Tuesday:  Low HIIT 20 Class, Stretch 10 Class

 Wednesday:  Rest Day

Thursday:  Fire Starter Class, Stretch 10 Class

Friday:  Fire 40 Class, Stretch 10 Class

 Saturday:  Fire Starter Class, Stretch 10 Class

 Sunday:  Core 20 Class,  Stretch 40 Class

 Of course, this doesn’t include the dance parties with my daughter. We break out into dance anytime any music came on. It’s been a blast. The weather’s been too icky to take her to the park, so we probably won’t get that in this week either. Until next time,

  1. I'm going to do the Insanity workout but just like you I've been waiting for the stars to align. They will be in perfect alignment in another week. lol Good luck to you.
