Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been working to work off this weight that I’ve gained over the years. I KNOW that my biggest problem is that I don’t eat as well as I should. I need to eat MUCH better.
What we put in our body is 80% of what makes us who we are. The closer to natural it is, the better it tends to be for you. Of course, I struggle when it comes to snacks! I mean, doesn’t a bag of chips sound better than some veggies. I’m sure I’m losing my weight loss coach card right now, but it’s true. I like to snack and I can’t say my snacks are healthy.
In steps Betty Lou’s products. I received this entire pack of healthy snacks which I just ate up! I’m not going to say all of the products were created equal, so I’ll list my favorites to my least favorite:
These were to die for! Not only were they were sweet enough to kick any sweet tooth that I have going on, they were also very yummy. My favorite by far was the Protein Plus Coconut Macadamia Energy/Nut Butter Ball. I’m not too sure if I could have a bunch of these in the house, since I’ll likely want to eat them all. But, I know with 10 grams of protein per little ball that I’ll make this choice over and over again. I was also surprised that I could also eat just one and be full. I wasn’t searching for more to eat. They also come in Almond Butter, Cashew Pecan, Protein Plus Almond Butter, Protein Plus Cashew Butter, Protein Plus Peanut Butter, Protein Plus Peanut Butter Chocolate (which was also delicious), and Spirulina Ginseng. Purchase in sizes of 12 or 40.
As a mom, in a house with one car, mornings are CRAZY! Not only do I have to get the kids up and ready to go, we have to be on time to get my husband to work too. If I don’t eat (or get something to eat before I get out of the house, I may not eat for a couple of hours, depending on Miss B’s attitude.
I’m not even a vanilla lover, or even liker. Vanilla is truly one of the last choices I would make in making a selection. My palate was surprisingly pleased by the Vanilla Protein Shake. I liked it MORE than the chocolate. The shake was rich, not too sweet and was perfect for my breakfast as I ran out of the door. The shakes also come in Chocolate and Orange Cream. You can choose either individually wrapped packages to take on the go or a large jug to keep at home.
These fruit bars are packed with fruit, and easy on the breading. I love that because I find with other bars, I often have a lot of breading and just a small sliver of fruit in between. I liked both the Strawberry and the Blueberry, since I love berries. I didn’t taste any added sugar which meant that it was just the right amount of sugar. The kids loved these. They were satisfied and didn’t ask for anything else during snack time. The fruit bars also come in Cherry, Apple Cinnamon and Apricot. You can choose between a box of 12 or jar of 35.
I have to say that I was HIGHLY skeptical of this product. Who wants their peanut butter powdered. Why powdered? Because they can pack in more protein and less fat. So, in I jumped. They were extremely tasty. The only problem I had was that getting the right water to powder ratio for me was difficult. I tried the two tablespoons, as directed, but it wasn’t enough water for me. I ended up playing with the measurement longer than I liked. With the second pack of chocolate, I ended up putting in too much water and there’s really no way to undo it. They were tasty though. Miss B and I dipped our celery sticks right in and it was the first time she ate the celery in its entirety. Yay me! The Powdered Peanut Butters come in Powder Peanut Butter – Protein Plus, Powder Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Powdered Peanut Butter.
These sweet, tasty health bars take the cake. Chocolate Green Dream bars pack a punch when they come to antioxidants, utilizing Dates, Raisins, Bananas, Carrots, Spinach, Kale, Broccoli Sprout with Organic Rice Protein & Cashews to make it complete. I will say it’s packed with a bunch of great stuff. These, unfortunately, were my least favorite. All of the natural fruits were just too sweet for me. They come in Cacao Acai, Chocolate Dream Greens, Fruit and Veggie, and Superberry Acai.
They also have an Angel Bar which I did not have the opportunity to try.

Those products look pretty good! I've never heard of this brand before. Have a great Monday!
I hadn't either. They are definitely tasty. They've been around for a long time, but it looks like they are really trying to make an impact everywhere!
FYI gluten-free does not make something 'healthy'
You need to look for whole grains, no hydrogenated fats, no high fructose corn sugar to start.
Basically, eat whole foods as much as you can. Snacking on fruits or veggies and the occasional nut or protein bar is fine.
Agreed. There are no preservatives, hydrogenated facts, HFCS or anything you can't pronounce in any of these products!
