It’s A Hard Knock Life {#AnnieMovie in Theaters Dec. 19 + #Giveaway}

Annie is a young, happy foster kid who was originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday. It’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan. But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

Annie is a classic film… one that holds up across the ages. I’m serious! When I found out about this giveaway, I grabbed my kids and watched the original immediately on Netflix! My 10 year old son and 3 year old daughter sat through the entire movie, singing and dancing to the songs and loving the story!

Then, I had the opportunity to review the movie on Saturday with my little Bee! After some confusion, and my daughter showing me that’s my little trooper, we saw the new Annie with a theater of other fans!

This updated version makes some contemporary changes to the original, where little orphan foster child Annie is left as a four year child instead of an infant, and Daddy Warbucks Mr. Stacks doesn’t have a direct line to the President and there is no bodyguard with magical powers. In fact, there are no bodyguards, there’s only a driver.

Don’t expect this version to follow exactly the previous story line, it does not try to force the new into the old, it just tells a great rags to riches Annie story! You’ll also miss some of the old songs like “Dumb Dog”, “Let’s Go to the Movies” and “We Got Annie” and replaced with some new songs that I’m sure you’ll love called “The City’s Yours” and “Opportunity”. You’ll also notice some lyrical changes,

The new Annie movie will be hitting theaters on December 19th!

      True. I was skeptical, but they did a great job. There are a LOT of changes, so don't expect the same movie. Just think of it as a new movie with the same moral values.
