I’ve Never Had A Meltdown Like These

Part of my goal list for the last two years is to read a book a month.  Well, actually two. One for fun and one to improve myself.

I’m happy to report that I FINALLY hit it, 13 months later. I read a book from cover to cover… and it was funny, lighthearted, deep, emotional, and completely relatable.

As a stay at home mom that just moved across the US, I can be very lonely. I’m feeling the stress of raising three kids, trying to unpack a house (and purge things that don’t fit), make a few extra dollars, and learn my surroundings.

So, in December, I finally picked up the book that I heard about around the interwebs, having had some bloggy friends be contributors. I wish I could say that I read it cover to cover in one sitting, because I really, really wanted to.

But real life got in the way. If I wasn’t tugged out by Miss B, I was start reading and fall asleep from sheer exhaustion.

So, I made a decision to get some alone time away from the family, just for an afternoon and finished it. Well, mainly because it was the end of the month and I hadn’t finished a damn book. I was determined to start reading regularly, and I wasn’t going to let anything stop me!

With coffee in hand, I read, laughed and cried realizing that others were feeling my same pain in The Mother of All Meltdowns.

This compilation of stories from bloggers discussing their most stressful times including the “friend” who decided to get drunk at 9 o’clock in the morning on the family vacation, the play-dough run a muck, and dealing with an unhappy child at the HAPPIEST PLACE on EARTH!

What’s a mother to do? Sometimes there is no other option than to have a MELTDOWN! It really is a quick read, get yours today!

  2. I am with you on falling asleep every time I try to read! So frustrating!! And it has nothing to do with the content of the book. Just the sheer exhaustion of mothering!

    • No one told us that with all of the developments we have, that motherhood would still leave us exhausted at the end of the day! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Thanks for sharing this!! We all have moments! Personally I think one of the nice things is because it's short stories, you don't have to read the whole thing all at once!!

    • Definitely. It made it easier to come back. I didn't have to re-read some because I couldn't remember what happened in the last scene. LOL! Mommy brain is in full effect over here!

Thank you so much, and I'm so glad you liked it. I can't imagine that people out there can't relate. Meltdown-less people? Never.

    • I think it's people who wouldn't admit to a meltdown. If I could only remember WHY, I'd tell the story where I was shaking and yelling and walked stayed in another room from my son for hours until my husband got home. I'm so glad I knew the authors!

  6. I really enjoyed Mother of All Meltdowns! I too, was glad I was able to get through a book, since my time for reading books is so limited with my 3 month old son.

  7. Looks like a really good and witty book. Planning to get a copy although I may have difficulties with shipping since I don't live in the US. Glad to know you finally had your ME-time and realized that you're actually not alone. We share most of the sentiments! Stay strong April.
