This week I’m switching with one of the creators ~ Amber from The Bold Fab Mom! How lucky am I?
When you’re in the market for a health and fitness coach or personal trainer, she’s your gal!
Now, we’ll get to the questions Amber asked me.
1. How long have you been blogging? Looking back at my posts, I’ve been blogging for four years. However, I really think I found my voice about a year or so ago, so I will be having a blogiversary soon!
2.  Do you enjoy blogging, or do you blog just so you’ll have something to do? Both! I love doling out advice ~ who doesn’t? I’m a stay at home mom who just moved to a brand new state, with no local friends. So, talking to you makes me feel like I’m talking to someone, ya know?  I’m also learning that there’s so much more that I can gain from others.
3. You’re a lawyer, but have never practiced.  Do you plan on practicing in the future? This is a hard one. Living in a new state, I have to take the Bar again. It all depends on what the family needs and where I am when that happens. I do a few things on the side, so if they are doing well, going back to law will probably not be on the top of my priority list.
4. You’re on a weight loss journey!  That’s awesome!  What is your favorite healthy meal? Funny enough a salad. I like an antipasto chopped salad ~ pepperoni, salami, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, celery.
5.  Do you ever have splurge days?  If so, what it the 1 food that you have to splurge on? Lately more than I’m supposed to. I typically splurge on breads and sweets. I do not discriminate on good food!
6. What is your favorite movie of all time?  You know, that one that you could watch over and over and over and still never get bored. This is a hard one. I rarely watch a movie more than once. I’ll have to say Beauty and the Beast! I love the soundtrack and relate to Belle so much! (How embarrassing to admit this!)
7. What is your best piece of parenting advice? That is one piece of advice that I rarely have. I think you should breastfeed. I think you should raise your children to be nice and polite. But honestly, HOW to make that happen still eludes me. I spend a lot of days stressed and annoyed by my daughter (especially). I NEED the advice here! She’s all things I’m not.
8. You and your hubby have been together for a while now.  What is one thing the two of you do or say to one another to keep your relationship strong? There’s not one thing… especially one thing that we say. I will offer that I don’t say a lot of things that come to my mind. There are a lot of things that bother me about him, but for the most part I let it go, unless (1) he’s likely to change or (2) he’ll favorably respond. If he continues to throw his underwear on the floor right NEXT to the dirty clothes, after I’ve asked him to NOT do it a couple of times, I leave it alone. Picking it up is easier than being angry. I don’t nag. It just makes the whole house pissed.
9. What is your worst habit? Cracking my knuckles. I was a major tomboy growing up and I can crack almost everything. It’s a horrible habit, yet not doing it now painful.
10. What is 1 random thing that not a lot of other people know about you? I have no problem not going outside for days! Don’t get me wrong, I like to open the windows and let the fresh air in, but I’m an indoorsy girl.

  1. That last one, seriously during the winter and how cold it was at the beginning of the week, I so see the perks of never having to go out if I didn't right now! But seriously, just not a fan of the cold or winter as you know, but ask me that again in about 4 months, when the sun is shining and it is 80 degrees and you will get a totally different answer!

    • Cold or hot, I'm an indoorsy girl. It's hard with kids though, since they have to go out and play. It rained so hard the area flooded last night and I actually loved it!

  2. Hi! I also don't discriminate on good food! AT ALL! If it's yummy I MUST have some..LOL I am also so with you on the not going outside thing…I love fresh air and such but not going out is okay with me as well. It was great meeting and getting to know you a bit this week. Have a great weekend!

    • I've been pushing myself to go outside more, for the kids sake, they need it. But if it were up to me, then I'd be inside with NO problem! Thanks for having me. This is really fun!

    • she said healthy meal. i do like salads a lot, and a good chopped salad is bomb! I need the alone time, which means I need childcare. All are on the backburner for now. LOL! Oh, Beauty and the Beast has been my favorite since junior high. I would read all the time, i was stubborn and I loved the songs! I was also in choir. I need to get back to reading though. I really miss it.

  4. I'm with you, April. I love being indoors. And Belle was one of my favorite disney princesses because she loved to read just as much as me. Imagine such a large library at your own disposal! I'd be reading for days on end lol. Hope you have a beautiful weekend!

    • I used to read as much as her! LOL! I used to wish I had my own library, but the city library is even better, always getting new books in! I need to read more! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

  5. I love all your answers! Oh, and don't worry my oldest annoys the mess out of me! I think it's just the age he's at…and I think he purposely annoys me…actually I'm certain of it.

    Thanks for swapping with me!

    • My daughter is only 2! She is almost my exact opposite. I'm pretty sure she does it on purpose too!

  6. Hahaha! I agree with the not nagging thing. I've learned too that some things you just have to let roll off your back. Not putting the clothes in the basket or leaving them constantly on the chair is one of them. I forgot that you got your law degree and all of that! You do seem to have so much going on. How do you keep up with all of those gigs and kids? You go girl! I don't think I realized the house was in a different state or maybe I forgot. How far from family is it and what state are you all in now?

    • You can nag, and they can tune you out and most times they do! I don't really. This year, that has to change. I want us to live better, more comfortably, so I have to put my skills to work. In August, we moved from California to Florida to be closer to my husband's family. We bought our first house here.

  7. Hey April, I enjoyed reading your answers. I agree everyone that can breastfeed should at least try for a month.

    • I think they should try. I think there's a misconception that it doesn't hurt, so when it's painful they quit. It gets better and so worth it! and SO much cheaper and easier than formula!

  8. Fabulous! We have so much in common! I love Beauty and the Beast, as I relate to Belle very much. I love to read and am rather dreamy. I could oh so be a major hermit, I have gotten worse since I became a SAHM. If I don't have to leave my house, I won't! Anymore, about the only time that I do is for church or grocery shopping! LOL! I adore bread and sweets way too much and I crack my knuckles and several other things, too! Looking forward to swapping with you at the end of the month! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    • I'll go out when someone invites me and whatnot, but if it's just to get out, that's rare. Definitely go out to take my son to school, church and grocery shopping are the only real reasons I've left my house. Yay! I look forward to swapping with you too!
