Great Taste. Small Waist.

I’m part of the Personal Trainer Food campaign. I was given the food for review, but all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links, which give you an awesome discount, and a little for me too!

That’s the tagline for Personal Trainer Food. Right now, I can attest to the first part. GREAT TASTE. I’m working on the second part. When I got my GIGANTIC pack of food from Personal Trainer Food, I had mixed feelings. On one hand, I thought “Yay! I don’t have to cook for a month”. On the other hand, I thought, “Where am I going to put all of this food?!”

Great Taste. Small Waist.Last time, I talked about how much I can tell my body was completely addicted to sugar. I also mentioned that you get 28 days worth of food which means 28 breakfasts, 56 entrees, 56 vegetable sides and 28 snacks. As most of the food is natural, almost all of it has to go in the refrigerator or freezer.

But then, after I figured out how to put everything away… then I looked at everything and said “I hope this tastes good”.

Luckily for me, it all tastes great!

Each package is marked with what it is as well as how long it needs to microwave. No item takes more than 2 minutes to cook. It couldn’t be simpler, especially for me, who cooks dinner for the rest of the family every night. I can easily cook my meal while cooking the family’s meal and still sit down to eat together.

So, as you look down this list, in the week and a half that I’ve been on Personal Trainer Food, I’ve tried a lot of their offerings. I love spicy things, and have been quite impressed with the hot items such as

Most of the breakfasts contain eggs, which includes two or more of the following:

  • BreakfastsPlain Omelet
  • Cheddar Omelet
  • Western Omelet
  • Egg Patty
  • Egg White Vegetable Patty
  • Garden Patty
  • Maple Sausage
  • Breakfast Sausage
  • Bacon*

I was going to take the pictures myself, but really, the site does it better and they do it best. There’s no pretending with the pictures that Personal Trainer Food takes. This is just what it is. No frills. They added a little garnish of salsa and parsley, but that’s it.

I wanted to make sure that this journey didn’t end soon, so I made sure I stocked up on different seasoning and seasoning blends… a little hot sauce, a little salsa or a little taco seasoning. Even utilizing my complete seasoning has been awesome. I have actually started trying out different hot sauces in order to see which one I really like.

These seasonings come especially in handy for the vegetables. They are plain, not even with salt. So, they do need a little bit of sprucing. Personal Trainer Food provides a Sweet Garlic Sauce which is quite tasty, but I’m not that big into sweet vegetables. One 28 day program includes one of the sweet garlic sauces for free!

Lunch and dinner includes one vegetable and one entree.  To be honest, I have not been paying attention to these blends to say which I like or don’t, but I can’t see how any of them could be bad.

Up next, is the variety of entrees. When I say that these items look and taste like they sound… I’m so serious. For lunch, I had the Apple and Gouda sausage, delicious! As I eat through this package, I just keep wishing they would bring these options to mass market. These are great simple ways to stay on your eating plan without the food being boring.

    • I love that you don't have to really think about it. Since you can choose from the list, you can choose just the foods you can eat. Yes, check with your dietician. I can't see why they would decline.

  14. This sounds like a good option for people trying to lose weight and just don't know what to make or the appropriate portion size. Glad you found something that tastes great and works for you.

    • For a lot of people, finding the right portions is hard. You can grab a small bottle of something and think because it's small, it's one serving, only to find out it's 2.5 or 4 servings. This works great!
