I started on my 21 Day Fix journey about a month and a half ago. So far, I’ve lost 10 pounds. As I mentioned last week, I am attending a wedding in California at the end of September and would like to lose 10 pounds a month until then! That would 40 pounds!
For me, I need a routine to get my workouts in. I prefer to get my workouts in first thing in the morning so that I don’t have to worry about it throughout the rest of the day. At the end, I definitely feel the excuses become more frequent and stronger, like:
- I just ate and my stomach is full. I’ll wait until my food digests.
- I have to cook dinner and watch the kids.
- I’m tired.
- Let me just watch this show, and I’ll get to it.
- I need to bathe the kids.
- I need to put the kids to bed.
- It’s too late.
In the morning, things haven’t really gotten started yet and I certainly can’t be behind at the beginning of the day. Right now, I have to take my husband to work, then I immediately go over to my cousin’s house and knock out 30 minutes of exercise. The only potential hiccup is if Butterfly needs to eat when we get to her house. If so, I feed her, then get straight to work!
This is my “No Excuse” workout plan! I find a time and day that I can commit to, and I do it! I don’t make excuses and each morning I give it my all. Since it’s only 30 minutes, I get it done quick. I do have little interruptions, by which I mean, little children, but I’ll talk about how to handle that next week.
See, I’ve been on this diet roller coaster for most of my adult life. I’m tired of doing it. I really want to get off this ride. I need to stop giving up and stop giving into everything else. I understand there are tons of reasons why you want to not workout, but there are many more to do it! Use them and find them!
I’m sure you have your myriad of reasons for not working out too:
- I’m too busy.
- I’m tired.
- I ache.
- I’m too old.
I’m sure you come up with so many reasons not to get started, but here are some testimonials from my clients as reasons why you should get started today!
“Even though I don’t work for Weight Watchers any more I still attend the meetings (to chat members and the staff lol) I weighed in yesterday, started the 21 day fix on Tuesday (but had been watching what I ate for a few days before) DOWN 2.4 lbs —- I NEVER lose this much weight unless I am sick, and I’m not. Hopefully at the end of the 21 days I will have lost the weight I want to == then to keep it off!” ~ E.J.
“I forgot how much 3 green containers of steam veggies was. That’s a lot of food!” ~ L.D.
“I successfully made it through day two of the three day quick fix! Woohoo! Today is day 3 and I am overly excited and craving fruit! Tomorrow can’t come fast enough! I will make it! I can’t wait to eat my portions!” ~ T.T.
“As of today, since February I have lost 18 inches and 15 pounds!! I am about to start another 21 day fix as I have not been as strict at it as I should be. But the results are there! 12 inches just around my waist! That is huge!!!” ~ M.C.
One added GREAT benefit with Beachbody is if you submit your results to the Beachbody Challenge website, you will be entered to win $500! Wouldn’t you like to lose some weight and win some money at the same time?
Please leave a comment with your most used excuse!

**I am an Independent Beachbody Coach and will receive a commission should you choose to buy.**
I keep wondering about Shawn T's Insanity after hearing about it from a few other moms on Emma's soccer team. I really do need to check it out and thanks for the reminder
It's a great workout! I would definitely take advantage of this deal! The only reason I'm not doing it is because for some reason I can't find it after the move. When I do, it's on! I would love if you'd click through my banner if you decide to get it!
"If you are tired of starting over, stop giving up" I totally LOVE that quote! Congrats on losing 10 lbs. that is a great accomplishment, April!
Thank you, Stephanie! Only 60 more to go! Then I can get off this ride.
I saw Shawn T on an infomercial last night and he cracks me up! On a serious note, I've heard great things about his workouts. Although, I can't afford to loose weight, I could do his workouts to build muscle. Between breastfeeding and just not being focused on myself, I've lost the little curves I did have. I need them back!
LOL! The great thing about Insanity, is you don't need any weights. It's just you and him. You could definitely shape your body with the program!
I can always come up with excuses but I am too busy! LOL!! Yeah, thats my big one, just too busy to work out! Not anymore, i am on a weight loss journey and am just doing one day at a time, doing exactly what I need to do today to lose those extra pounds:))
We are only as busy as we prioritize. There are tons of things we are "too busy" for, yet we manage to make sure we get it done. Yay! What are you doing to make it happen?
I am doing the same thing I did last year when I needed to drop some weight basically plan each meal and workout 6 days a week:))I blogged about it last year but I allowed other things to get in the way so I am up 8 lbs from then and am working on it! I know I can lose it by doing exactly what I am doing. Here is the link to the first one of my posts and I need to write a couple more about what to do when I slide back:(http://www.myturnforus.com/2013/04/how-i-lost-20lbs-in-3-months-part-1.htmlBut I will be keeping an eye on you for inspiration and grabbing tip:))HugsEvelyn
In tonight's post (it just went live) I have included some biblical inspirations as well! I'll be popping over to your place and see how you did it. Who couldn't use an extra push when things go off track!
Awesome! I am on my way over:)) HugsEvelynPS Don't forget to link up any of your posts to Freedom Fridays Linky Party (No Rules) It just went live!!
Thanks so much! I'll add it to my blog roll!
Honestly April, since I'm a mom like you, those are definitely all the ones I can think of! LOL. Doing it in the morning does sound best. Hubby wants me to get back on the resistance bands. That should be fun lol. Fortunately, I walk everyday faithfully.
Those are easy to use, but I think we end up abusing them when we don't want to work out! I'm ditching the excuses and making a change this year. I have some excellent opportunities coming my way and I want to take advantage of them!
I am so proud of you! I have seen your pics on instagram! I am rooting for you!
Thank you! I'm rooting for you too!
Thanks for the dose of motivation… I keep having to start over… it can be discouraging! Good work with persistence.
It's hard to keep going. Sometimes, it's a struggle. I need to hit my goal!
