For those of you who aren’t familiar with #AskAwayFriday it’s an amazing way to meet new bloggers, make friends and ask some questions to get to know them better! We now have four permanent hosts ~ Penny at The Real Housewife of Caroline County, Tiffany at Mrs. Tee – Love, Life, and Laughter, Amber at Bold Fab Mom and Stacey at This Momma’s Ramblings. 10 questions are exchanged and answered on your partners blog, you can get as creative as you want and even get into our purses!
This week, I’m switching with Sarah from Small Town Iowan. She is the mother of two beautiful daughters. She’s one of the early adapters of Ask Away Friday and I’m happy to have her here. She’s the stay at home mother to two cute little girls and runs her own tutu business. Can you say adorable?
Now on to her questions for me!
1. Ok my go to question lately. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Good question. Hopefully in Congress. As a Stay at Home Mom, I do a lot of community service and I hope I can translate into working for the people. My eldest will be in college, my husband working from home, and the little ones in school. It will be more about me around then.
2. What is your favorite room in your place? Pictures of course if you can! Right now, it’s my bedroom. We’re still furnishing our house, and most of the other rooms aren’t fully furnished. Sitting in them makes me feel incomplete. The only thing not up in this room is wall art, otherwise it’s DONE!
3. What is something you love to do in your free time. Sleep! I feel like I get so little of it, that a nap does a body good. I’m also working on reading a book a month.
4. If you are having an “off day” what do you do that usually cheers you up? Most of my off days lately is when Miss B gets a bit out of control. What cheers me up is when my in-laws take her so I can get a break!.
5. If you could spend the day with one celebrity who would it be? I would say Beyoncé. I know her day is going to be action packed, rigorous, with some hard work and good healthy food.
6. Team coffee or tea? Although I love my tea, I’d have to say coffee. It’s the only way I’ve made it through so many of my days.
7. What does your typical day look like? Read the bible while nursing the baby. Either go back to sleep or get ready to take my husband to his drop off point for work. Then to my cousins house for our walk. Home to feed Miss B a snack, play time until 11:30-12:30 depending on when it looks like she’ll go down. Either nap (see #3 above) or work on my site while she’s sleep. Pick up my son. Snack time. Homework for him, art for her. Playtime for both and/or clean up. Cook dinner. Pick up husband. Finish dinner. Put kids to bed. Watch a little tv and work on my blog til I pass out.
8. What is inside your purse? (pictures are welcome ;)) lol! Nothing much really. Wallet, keys, sunglasses, phone, notebook and a couple of pens. An occasional stray lipstick or lip gloss. Sometimes my headphones. I hate fishing around in my purse and may clean it out a couple of times a week.
9. If I came to visit you, where would you take me? I’m a homebody by nature and would likely find places based on your specific requests. However, if money were no object, we’d start with tgis bakery that ive been dying to try that sells the cronut; then shopping at the local mall, has all the best high end stores; late lunch on the water at the Breakers; go to downtown and walk around, then dinner on the rooftop of Sky309. Sound good?
10. How did you and your husband meet? Online. We were friends long before online dating was a “thing”. We were so much friends that we ended up in the same city and didn’t even try to meet up until the last weekend.
Don’t forget to stop by her page and check out her answers to my questions!
Please consider donating to benefit children with congenital heart defects. You can donate directly to a couple of organizations that I support, or you can purchase something from any place in which I’m an affiliate and I will donate all of my commission for the month to the cause. Please see this post for more details.
That's so awesome you hope to be in Congress one day! I stay far away from politics as far as discussing them, but I do try to stay in the know with what's going on politically in at least our country.
My purse is the complete opposite from yours! I clean mines out about once a month if that. I usually have a ton of pens and lipglosses, plus coupons, receipts, and my keychain is huge!
If I don't need a key, I take it off my ring immediately. Sometime I have my husband's keys, and I HATE it! I'm constantly asking what the "excess" keys are so I can take them off! If it's not something I need every day, it's in a drawer. If it's an old key, it's in the trash, unless I make something for my kids to play with. I love discussing it, but I have a problem with the fact that most of the discussion is more emotionally charged than logic.
Very nice blog! love the questions. I met my husband online also. I think that God still has control of who you meet and end up with even if it is online because my husband is too perfect of a match for me for it to be just an accident. It has been a wonderful 7 years and I am hoping for many many more.
I am a new follower from the Linky Climb via bloglovin I hope you will follow me back. http://butterflyintheattic.blogspot.com/2014/02/l…
Have a blessed day
Colleen
Yes, it's been 7 years for us. He is the perfect match for me as well. He deals with all of my craziness with a grain of salt and that's exactly what i need! LOL!
Interesting answers! Love the one #7. Sounds familiar – hello! Mothering and homemaking, there is never a dull moment! Tiring but so rewarding:)
I love it, but it has required me to rethink a lot of my old standards. I'm so glad I have the opportunity!
Great Q & A! You would totally rock Congress girl! I am trying to read more, too! It is so one of my favorite past times! Hope you have a great weekend!
Gosh, April! You keep a really neat bag! So do I, but from time to time I need to do a quick cleanup so that I can lay hands on my necessary stuff (phone, headphones, wallet) with ease. And I'm all about getting my zzz's too. It makes a big difference as to how my day goes and how much energy I can muster.
If I can't reach in my bag and grab my keys immediately, I know I have too many things in it! I hate searching for things and it doesn't seem to matter whether the purse is large or small. The larger it is, the more I find to put in it. I will probably never go back to 8 hours of sleep, although I wish I do, but as much as I can get is great!
Full days – that is our lot as moms, isn't it?
Whether we hold a full itme job or not, being a mother is a full-time, never ceasing job. Love it and dislike it all at the same time.
I'd love to have a wall art in my room too! It's liberating! A dinner on the rooftop sounds really nice. I've always loved rooftops..
Yes, rooftops and artwork can be beautiful. You see the entire horizon and we live near the beach, so water on one side, plains on the other and city on a third. I'm not sure what I want to put in my room yet.
My husband and i also met online. I don't know if our paths would have crossed if we hadn't met through Match.com. We were both living in Boston, but have a lot of different interests!
I know ours would have not. I'm very grateful for the ability to have met the man of my dreams. It shouldn't matter if it were online or my next door neighbor!
I'm impressed with how little you have in your purse. I'm convinced stuff multiplies in mine! And sleep…mmmmmm. I love it. My bed it my favorite place to be!
Wow! Congress That is an awesome goal! I hope you get there and really make a difference!!
Alright I'm coming to visit, lets go do all that stuff! Thanks for being my partner, sorry this is a little late. Have a good week!
Let's go! My door is open. No problem, things have been CRAZY in this house!
Oh I forgot you just moved into your house. Your room looks nice! We never put up wall art either in this apartment. If we can, I would love to do more decorating in our next place My purse is rather small too since most of it is JR's stuff that takes up space lol if I bring him with me when I go somewhere.
Amazingly, I don't have very many baby things in my purse. I guess with two of them, I'm pretty much forced to carry a diaper bag for all of their things. Thanks. I can't wait to put up the art, I just have to pull everything out, decide what I want in my room and go from there. I need to add it to my "to-do" list.
